Sponsored by the University of Iowa Center for Human Rights, "Being Muslim in America" will consider how Islam, identity, and self-expression exist in a post-9/11 world and how this plays into international relations and global conflict moving forward.
The panel discussion will be prefaced by a gallery talk from the curator of the related exhibit Have No Fear: Islamophobia in the 21st Century, currently on display in the museum rotunda.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Old Capitol Museum in advance at 319-335-2010.
