The Office of the State Archaeologist's partner organization, the Iowa Archeological Society (IAS), is hosting their annual Spring Meeting in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on April 28th and 29th, and the Council Bluffs Public Library. Tours of sites around Council Bluffs will be offered on Friday, April 28th, and papers will be presented on Saturday.
The IAS is especially looking for student papers on Iowa archaeology, history, geology, and related topics. However, there are also presenter slots available for other avocational and professional folks who have been conducting Iowa research this year. Presentations will be 15 minutes long, plus 3-4 minutes allowed for questions. To submit a paper, e-mail Megan Stroh with your name, affiliation, contact information, a title for your presentation, and an abstract of 200 words or less. The deadline to submit papers is March 1.
