'Woke Up Black' Film Screening

Wednesday, September 24, 2014 - 1:30pm

Shambaugh Auditorium

Woke Up Black documents a two-year period in the lives of five Black youth ages 16-21, capturing both day-to-day life events such as family gatherings and interactions with the justice system, as well as major milestones such as high school graduations and first days at college. The film focuses on the youths' ideas and opinions in their own words, and underscores the humanity that we all share regardless of race or age.  For more information and to view trailers of the film, click here.

Following the screening we will hold a panel discussion with Producer Mary Morten and three of the documentary subjects - Morgan Price, Ace Hilliard, and Carter Tindell-Hall.
